Curare Blow-Dart Monkey Slaughter video
and commentary by Thomas Delinks
For centuries, indigenous peoples of the Amazon rainforest have
hunted with arrows tipped with the dried extract of the plant
Chrondrondendron tomentosum, which produces a deadly poison known
to English speakers as "curare." Tropical ethnobotonist Thomas
Delinks visited a group of Huaorani Indians in Ecuador and
captured the whole process, from extraction to hunt, on video.
